Wasatch 6.3 Softrip Released

Version 6.3 of Wasatch SoftRIP has been released for sale and shipment.

Some of the key new features:

SoftRIP Templates – save prep time by defining templates for image layout and sizing. Ideal for any printing that requires consistent image placing and sizing – i.e. t-shirting printing and flatbed printing
Color Database capabilities for importing databases (users can import their own pantone data sets)
Color refinement allowing hue specifications in percentages
Halftoning method for use with grayscale print heads such as Xaar Omnidot
A “generic” Tiff output capability for simple printers that can be interfaced via a set of separated Tiff files.

Wasatch SoftRIP is available as part of our Dye Sublimation Total Solution Package.

New Workflow Paths to improve production speeds. These new paths include:

Direct-to-Layout is ideal for users who like to view all of the images in a production run at the same time so they can plan their print run efficiently.
Job-Based processing streamlines file preparation for individuals that choose to open one image at a time, preparing each file to RIP and print individually.
The Server-Based workflow is favored by users who manage the RIP from the Master Queues Manager, receiving files to RIP from separate networked workstations.

Smart Nesting – new nesting algorithm will intelligently rearrange your images to maximize coverage and save on media costs

Wasatch Softrip 6.0 Beta Available

*** UPDATE *** Full Release of Wasatch SoftRip 6.0 is now available
Wasatch has recently announced availability of Wasatch SoftRIP ver 6.0. with full release sometime in late October. There are several new time-saving workflow options and media-saving nesting tools available in this version.

Anyone purchasing Version 5.3 today will receive the upgrade to Version 6.0 free of charge at the time of its full release. Fortunately, all imaging configurations and all RIP and Print queues from Version 5.3 work perfectly in Version 6.0.

Wasatch Variable Data Printing Option

The total solution package for dye-sublimation printing now includes an optional variable data printing option from Wasatch. The optional variable data package is suited for sublimation printing of items that require changing text or graphics. It’s ideal for productions of customized uniforms, promotional items, or full-color labels. Any material that requires separate graphics for each print could benefit from the variable data printing option.
